|English Version|

  1. Israel is called to the court on Monday for many unfamiliar cases, such as “concerning cigars, a Bugs Bunny doll, and numerous other unfair charges.” At the same time, President Donald Trump protested the proposal, saying the US will protect him as an innocent defendant.

Opinion: This might be an act to restrict Israel’s actions against other nations, especially when considering on recent conflict between Iran and Gaza.

  1. Trump stated that “Iran has great oil,” and yet he has no intention to take control of it. His only focus is on reaching the nuclear deal, which the next discussion will be discussed next week with Trump.

Opinion: Is it true? Iran is a major producer of crude oil and accounts for roughly 20% of the global oil in the Strait of Hormuz, so having this control over oil, would it not be better? But even if it does, it might not come easily.

  1. While conflict between Israel and Iran has somewhat stalled, some news reports have indicated that Israel has continued its strike against Gaza, with the death toll increasing to more than 80 killed. Another terrible conflict continues before things might escalate next month.
  1. Spain tariff: Trump threatened that he would increase the tariff up to two times for Spain, triggering a trade war once again after geopolitical tensions eased to some degree. According to Julius Baer’s Carsten Menke, “News and noise around the trade topic are set to intensify again ahead of the end of President Trump’s Liberation Day tariff grace period in early July.”
  1. The Federal Reserve (FED): In spite of intense pressure from Trump to lower the interest rate, the FED Chair Powell remains unwavering in keeping the rate longer and declines any comment on July’s rate cut. Meanwhile, Trump hinted at the next FED chair selection with three to four candidates.
  1. Trump repeatedly criticized CNN and the New York Times for spreading the misinformation that the Iranian nuclear program may have only been set back by a matter of months. Therefore, CNN corrected the reports, confirming with CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s credibility, “Iran’s nuclear program was severely damaged and will take years to rebuild.” Yet, some still show skepticism toward all of this news and the relationship between the CIA and Trump.

***The skepticism was based on the market reaction and sentiment; no news was confirmed.***
